Grazings Committees are appointed to manage, maintain and improve common grazings. Having a Grazings Committee ensures that a Common Grazings can be regulated and protected by crofting law.
The committee is appointed by the crofters who share in a Common Grazings.
Having Grazings Committees is fundamental to safeguarding the future of Common Grazings land and they are often a valuable source of knowledge about crofting in their area. Grazings committees also help to sustain communal working and the management of community assets in crofting areas.

The Commission will no longer accept Notification Forms where the meeting has not been advertised in a newspaper circulating in the district of the common grazings.
