Crofting Landlords

Crofting Landlords are an integral part of the crofting system and have an important role to play to help ensure crofting’s many benefits are realised. 

The following pages are written for crofting landlords, to help clarify their role in different regulatory applications, and wider crofting matters where the Landlord is involved.

The constitution, powers and duties of the Crofting Commission are set out in The Crofters (Scotland) Act 1993. For the purposes of the following pages these will be referred to as “The 1993 Act” and can be viewed via this link; An Act to consolidate certain enactments relating to crofting, with amendments to give effect to recommendations of the Scottish Law Commission (scotland.gov.uk)
