CROFTING COMMISSION WELCOMES TURNAROUND REPORTS FROM DELOITTE AND AUDITOR GENERAL
The Crofting Commission has today, Thursday 8th of December 2022 welcomed the findings of Deloitte, who have submitted an updated progress report to the Auditor General for Scotland; and the subsequent report from the Auditor General. Both reports highlight the significant improvements that have been made by the Crofting Commission since the Deloitte audit of May 2021.
The Deloitte report states: “The Commission has acted quickly to address the weaknesses in the leadership and governance arrangements that were highlighted in our 2020/21 report. All recommendations have been assessed as being fully implemented. It is important that the Commission maintains the momentum during the first year of the new Board.”
Welcoming the positive audit, Malcolm Mathieson, Convenor of the Crofting Commission said:
“I am absolutely delighted with the teamwork, determination and integrity of staff from across the Commission who have worked tirelessly to address the issues which were raised by Deloitte in 2021. Taking a systematic and collaborative approach between the Board, Management, our sponsor department within the Scottish Government and the Commission staff as a whole, has ensured that our organisation has made exceptionally swift progress in achieving and maintaining improvements.”
