The Crofting Commission is reaffirming its commitment to working with Upper Coll shareholders following this morning’s decision by Inverness Sheriff Court to refuse the orders for interim interdict which had been sought against the Commission by Calum Maclean and Kenneth Macdonald. The interim orders sought would have, if granted, had the effect of preventing the Commission from fully carrying out its statutory functions in relation to this matter.
The Commission intends to update Upper Coll shareholders on the situation at the earliest opportunity to ensure they are fully informed about matters directly affecting them. In the meantime the Grazings Constable, who was appointed last week, will continue his investigations and he will also be available to provide shareholders with the opportunity to deal with any concerns or urgent matters relating to the grazings that they may have.
