Annual Notices

The Crofting Commission have been contacted by numerous crofters following the recent press article “New effort to record working crofts in Scotland” and would like to clarify the position regarding the Annual Notice for Crofters and Owner Occupier Crofters.
The Annual Notice is an obligation of the 2010 Crofting Legislation both on the Commission and on Crofters and Owner Occupier Crofters. Gathering this information will be of great importance to being able to establish what is actually happening on croft land and the valuable contribution that crofting makes to Scotland.
The Commission would like to advise Crofters and Owner Occupier Crofters that it will be some months before the Annual Notice will be sent out. Prior to its issue there will be publicity and information for Crofters and Owner Occupier Crofters to help them complete the form.
