New Corporate Plan

The Crofting Commission has today, (Monday 13th of March 2023) published its new Corporate Plan, which has been approved by the Scottish Government.
The plan will span the period of 2023 to 2028 and hopes to be ambitious, practical and show resilience for the continued work of the Crofting Commission. The plan focuses on four main outcomes; Crofting being regulated in a fair, efficient and effective way; Crofting continues to thrive and evolve; Crofts are occupied and used; and lastly that the Crofting Commission workforce is skilled and motivated and that our governance processes are best practice.
Speaking today, Bill Barron, Chief Executive of the Crofting Commission said:
“Our new Corporate Plan reflects the priorities of the Board and the Scottish Government, and has been informed by many conversations with crofters and organisations involved with crofting.”
“Most importantly, the Plan commits us to reducing the regulatory casework backlog substantially, this year. At the same time we will continue to address breaches of crofting duties, and will ensure we contribute effectively to the legislative debate on the future of Crofting.”
