Data Protection Act

The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to know what information is held about you and sets out rules to make sure the information is handled properly.

How to request information

A request should be made in writing and you should include documentary evidence of who you are e.g. copy of your driving license, birth certificate or passport. A suggested template for making your request can be found here.

Will there be a fee

Data Protection will require payment of a fee of £10 before we start to search for your information. You will find full details of our Charging Policy here.

Timescales

We will respond within 40 calendar days of receiving your request.

Your right to review and appeal

If you have a complaint about the way we have handled your personal information, you should contact the UK Information Commissioner.
